Hi, my name is Sinah and I am a mom. I am fundraising for my five year old son, Loapi who is currently in Botswana to be reunited with me. Here is my story and maybe it will inspire you to kindly assist me and my son.

I moved to Toronto, Canada in 2019 leaving my one and a half year old baby boy, in search of a better life. It was one of the toughest moments in my life. It's been FOUR YEARS, since I left him with my mother. When I left, I never imagined that this would turn into a turmoil. The journey turned out to be one of the toughest and most painful times of my life.

By September 2019, I got a great job as a Payment Center Clerk and was later promoted to a Billing Specialist. I had a good job, with a near work apartment and built a community. I started my son’s sponsorship application and when it was returned due to errors, my company swiftly stepped in (out of the blue), and hired an amazing immigration law firm to assist me.

March 2020, the pandemic hit. In addition, my lawyers and I encountered a major problem. Loapi’s father deliberately withheld signing the release documents for the application without any lawful grounds. Therefore, I had to hire a law firm in Botswana to apply for an order that’d get the process moving.

This whole situation was a lot for me. I went into an emotional rollercoaster that affected me so much that my performance at work declined and I was unfortunately let go in June 2022. I fought real hard to get through by going to therapy and with the help of antidepressants from my wonderful doctor. In the process,I exhausted all my savings on legal fees and keeping up with my daily living expenses here and that of my son and mom back home.

Fast forward a year later, my son has been approved and will finally be reunited with me. I have dreamed of this moment for four years. Finally embracing my son and giving him that motherly love that I am sure he genuinely yearns for. However, I am currently financially challenged. I also do not have much time because his visa to land in Canada expires in November 2023. After being let go from my job, I made several attempts to look for a job, but failed dismally. I then made a decision to start a concierge business and work as a lifestyle concierge. I believe so much in LOAPI CONCIERGE, however the income is just not enough right now. I was also lucky enough to get a freelancer job as a Social Media Coordinator from one of my clients. I am on the brink of losing our home and every day when I video call Loapi, he asks me “Mama, are you on the plane to come and take me?”

With these funds, I will pay for Loapi’s flight ticket.

I will also use the funds to catch up on my bills, especially my rent, which is a home for me and my son. This is where he and I will create lifetime memories. Four years is a lot to catch up on and I would not like to be homeless.

So, please help me. It took me a lot of praying to have the courage to start this fundraising page, but it's OK to ask for help and I am willing to do whatever it takes to bring my son here and give him a life that I promised him before I left him, four years ago. Your help will mean the world to me and my son. We thank you wholeheartedly,
