I'm raising funds to go to Guatemala this summer with SportQuest. We'll be doing small construction projects in the mornings. In the afternoons, we'll be playing sports with local kids and sharing the gospel with them.

Dear friends and family,
I hope you are all doing well. Thanks so much for taking the time to check this out! I am currently halfway through my Junior year at Covenant Christian High School and am planning on attending college and studying nursing after I graduate high school. This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to go to Tóalmás, Hungary on a mission trip with a team from my church. In Hungary, we taught English, played sports, and shared the gospel with kids from the local community. This was an amazing experience for me where I discovered a new side of God and myself. After I came home I began praying for another opportunity to travel and share God’s word and he answered my prayers!
My high school provides opportunities for trips during J-term (the first two weeks of January), but because of my commitment to my basketball team I wasn’t sure if those trips would ever be an option. But God provided! An opportunity to travel to Antigua, Guatemala with other athletes from my school practically fell into my lap. The trip would be from June 12-21, 2024 so it would not interfere with either basketball or soccer seasons. Not only that but in Antigua, we will be partnering with an organization called SportQuest. This organization has many locations across the globe where they partner with local churches and run programs to combine sports and ministry. In Antigua, we will help with small construction projects in the mornings. In the afternoons, we will play sports with local kids and share the gospel. Also, on the last weekend, we will hike up the mountain overlooking the city to volunteer at a camp where local kids will spend the weekend hearing the good news and playing sports.
I am so excited to meet these kids and share God’s truth with them! But I am also responsible for paying $2,925. This figure includes flights, housing, equipment, and meals. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. I look forward to seeing how God will provide the finances for this trip. It feels like a big goal!
As important as the financial aspect is, I value your prayers so much more. Please pray that our team learns to manage the language barrier and that we effectively communicate God’s word with these kids. Pray that the trip to and from Guatemala is fast and safe. Finally, pray we all see God and understand him in new ways and that we boldly speak out for him.
