We are given one life - & life is short. In the blink of an eye it can all change! It's a journey so why not add a little fun and adventure along the way AND support a great cause while you can? When was the last time you did something for the first time? This will be a first for me, not only racing a sled for speed (& in a bikini) but also a first for having the opportunity to personally set a goal to raise funds for a charity that provides hope and support to those fighting their battle.
Everyone - EVERYONE has a woman in their life that means the world to them - Grandma, Mom, Wife, Girlfriend, Aunt, Sister, Niece, Friend.... And each day a woman & her family receive news that will turn their lives upside down.
So this race and fundraiser is for all of them! For those who have already gone through it all and are cancer free, for those who are fighting hard through it today, for those who just got the news yesterday and are still trying to wrap their head around what it means - and for the families (the Husbands, Dad's, Sons, Brothers, Uncles, friends) that are watching and supporting the best they know how.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Currently more than 3 million women are living with breast cancer in the U.S and 1 in 38 women that are diagnosed will not survive breast cancer. Help support and provide a little hope to these women, their families and the women that complete your world!
The Bikini Run, held the first weekend in February on Little St Germain lake, is a fun way to raise money to assist both women (& men) who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are undergoing treatment.
Women gear up in their bikini's, helmets and boots to race their snowmobiles down a groomed track - racing for not only the fastest speed but also compete to raise the most money for Pink Ribbon Riders. (Did I mention, regardless of weather or temps, the race goes on!)
I am beyond pumped to enter my first run and truly appreciate any donation amount that will help me reach or exceed my goal.
***Side Note*** Although I am all about full throttle, I will likely have better odds of winning with donations than speed - lol!
