What is a School Marathon?

Each year, St. Dominic School joins hundreds of other Catholic schools throughout the country in an annual fundraising Marathon. The purpose is twofold: to show the community what "forming servant leaders" looks like and to raise money in support of our school's mission: inspiring students to excel as confident leaders, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens.

Due to COVID-19, we listened to YOUR feedback, and we are going back to our traditional Marathon, rather than a Service-a-thon! We invite our families to join us as we enjoy camaraderie with friends and raise money for our academic programs. When community members see our students' drive and motivation to help our school, they, in return, desire to support the faith-based formation our school offers each of our students.

How does the Marathon work?

Just like in past years, our Marathon is one of St. Dominic School's main fundraising events. The funds raised from this year's Marathon will go towards educational enhancements. This year, our school goal is to raise $25,000. With everyone's participation, we can achieve this goal!

Our Marathon runs from Friday, March 29, 2021, through Friday, May 7, 2021. Throughout this time, individual students and families are encouraged to get out in the community and ask for

Marathon pledges. To help make your fundraising efforts as safe as possible, we encourage you to utilize our online giving platform Fundly. More information on that is below. Additionally, we will come together as a community and walk our school grounds on Friday, May 7, 2021, to fulfill our commitment to our generous community. Parents are encouraged to participate that day alongside students!

As students are out in the community performing service projects, this is the perfect time to ask neighbors, extended family, and friends for financial gifts to honor your child’s work and to support our school's unique faith-based mission. Families are encouraged to create flyers, send emails, or connect with supporters in whatever creative means you wish. Students are offered many fun incentives for their good deeds! All donations are 100% tax-deductible, with proceeds directly supporting the school's mission.
