I am not trying to raise $500,000 by the 4th of July, but it is my goal for the year!

This year Adaptive Sports Center is celebrating its 30th year of providing life changing therapeutic adventure programs to people with disabilities. Through the ASC experience, participants are able to safely push themselves beyond their perceived limitations. The professional, highly certified instructors create a supportive environment essential to improving participants, confidence,self-efficacy, self-esteem and independence. After his ASC visit, Sebastian, a teen burn survivor from Florida discussed how important this program is to him. Because of his burns, he wore jeans to school every day—even during the very hot, humid summer months. One thing Sebastian has changed after his ASC experience is that he no longer wears jeans to hide his burns—he says, “It is amazing.” It is a simple, yet powerful, story that demonstrates this young man’s increase in confidence and self-esteem as a result of his experience here in Crested Butte at the ASC. And this is just one of thousands of similar stories that we can share with you, but I think we can all agree that the mission of the ASC is powerful and I for one am so proud to be associated with this organization!

The ASC is busting at the seams in their current space and in order to continue providing incredible programs, they need this new building! It will not only provide them the opportunity to serve, it will also provide life changing experiences for those in need. Please consider making a donation if you can. Thank you!
