I'll be participating in a service project on June 7 as a way of blessing the city of Hazleton, where my school is located. Will you support me in this effort and bless families by donating to our scholarship fund?

On Monday, June 7, students in grades 1–12 will venture out into the city to complete service projects. We're striving to fulfill our vision and mission as a school by blessing the city of Hazleton! We will be identifying projects in the city, where students can represent ICS and Christ and “bless the city” as our final end-of-year all-school event and fundraiser. Projects will include painting, landscaping, street cleanup, and strategically placing painted rocks with messages of hope and scripture in various places throughout downtown Hazleton, among other things.

"Bless the city...pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." - Jeremiah 29:7

The ICS Mission

To provide a financially accessible, grace-filled, Christ-centered education shaping students to become lifelong learners who serve their community with integrity.

The ICS Vision

To dramatically impact the city of Hazleton by empowering generations of diverse students, through Christ-centered education, to love God, serve others, and bless the world.

Why are scholarships needed?

The COVID-19 pandemic hit students and their families in the Greater Hazleton community extraordinarily hard. During this season of COVID-19, for schools who are fully remote, less than 50% of students across the U.S. are reported as showing up for class and having direct interaction with their classes and teachers. COVID-19 is widening the existing achievement gap, and some reports say the effects will last a lifetime. Students of color and those living in poverty are negatively impacted the most. With over 70% of ICS families considered low-income and a majority of the ICS student population being students of color, Immanuel Christian School is working to close the achievement gap. Five years ago, ICS made a commitment to serve the Greater Hazleton community by providing a quality education to students who are academically disenfranchised, culturally diverse, and economically disadvantaged. Offerings at ICS include state-of-the-art approaches to learning support, inclusion for ESL students, and more. Right now, there are more families who want their children to attend ICS than there are scholarship funds available. Hazleton needs Immanuel Christian School now more than ever before, and ICS needs partners to come alongside its mission to help provide scholarships for these deserving kids and their families.
