After volunteering on a Habitat project, working next to the soon-to-be homeowners, I was hooked. The sweat equity the family put into their home and the gratitude they expressed for everyone on the job site was remarkable. Their new home was changing their lives and I was fortunate to play a small part. I continue to support Habitat for Humanity because of the direct impact on our community and its homeowner partners.
Habitat has teamed up with group of “Celebrity Sous Chefs” who will work with local culinary experts and show off their own talents. Our "Celebrity Sous Chefs" are both eager and enthusiastic movers and shakers of the community who share Habitat’s values, and have a competitive spirit. Sous Chefs will be taught a skill by a local professional chef and will participate in a competition to test who has mastered their new technique the best.
In addition to our friendly kitchen competition, all Sous Chefs are asked to raise money in support of the event, and Habitat’s mission to eliminate substandard housing. Each winner of this two-part challenge will be named on the night of the gala.
