While the bartenders, servers, and entertainers are finding ways to get by, their income is drastically reduced during the shutdown. Let's show them how much we care with sending tips!

Huge thanks and virtual hugs to all who have contributed and shown support!! The donations have been distributed weekly and been a huge help to all of the staff and musicians who have received them, including many who have faced roadblocks to getting their unemployment benefits. We can't wait to show our gratitude in person when we return to whatever this brave new world has in store for us!! Here are a few words from the staff/entertainers:
"Hi everyone. I am doing ok. Thanks to everyone at The Alley for donating to help us while we’re out of work. I still haven’t received any funds from unemployment so every bit helps. I am staying busy working on paintings which will allow me to generate some money, but not enough to cover my regular expenses. Work for sale will be posted on Instagram under @robotsrule . Hope to see everyone soon when this is over."

"I am getting by okay with unemployment for now, with rent being so expensive and no way to earn money it is stressful. Both of my other jobs aside from the alley have shut their doors permanently so i will have nothing to go back to but my one or two days a week at the alley until i can find some other work.
So it’s definitely a help for groceries and whatnot to have this fund! Basically not spending money on anything other than food/rent/bills and it still cuts close.
Thank you!"

" I like to thank the staff at the Alley and to all of you for your kindness and vigorous support. Your energy will continue to keep hope alive and strong. It is important that we do that for each other. I thank you to those who have donated not just to me but to the staff I love working with too. I appreciate all the help that you're able to contribute and share.
These funds will be supportive for food basics and keeping the lights on. Right now I am currently taking on a course at Contra Costa College. It will help get me through. I hope to be CompTIA A+ certified sometime in June. If anyone needs help with their technologies I'm sure I can give some sound advice by then.
I haven't been on social media so much because schooling does this. My entry so far into college has been quite the experience. When some of this dust settles I would love to see your faces again. For now it's the books, morning zoom classes and online labs.
When I'm ready I’d like to work with Gretchen and to anyone else to get some of our karaoke on zoom for some entertainment. Thank you so very much. Take care of yourselves. Your resilient. You will get through this. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Don't be afraid to get help. We have each other.
Best,"

"Huuuuge thanks to all! I brought Paul his portion of donations in the form of very carefully selected groceries from a very specific list. Paul is very thankful and has kept his quarantine especially strict, so we can be sure to see him again! David and Ching received their donations in cash, and without unemployment (or facebook), they send their gratitude. I've used my portion for food and to help Jen's cat, who hasn't been well. So much thanks to the regulars, for staying with us and playing our music and trivia games throughout this shelter-in-place! All the love!"

If you haven't yet, you still have 5 days to help us reach our "fund goal," but what has been given so far is invaluable. Don't put yourself out, but even a couple dollars will help! If not, please continue to support by sharing the word, participating in our Monday night virtual trivia and Friday night virtual piano bar, and planning to see us when we come back! And most of all, take care, stay safe, and please reach out to us if you need anything!

Hi Alley Family!
While the bartenders, musicians, entertainers, servers, and Ching are finding ways to get by, it would help if we could ease the way for them. All proceeds will be split evenly and delivered weekly to folks who rely on the Alley as one of their primary sources of income. If you can't give a lot at one time, give a little when you can.
Thanks for being such a great part of our great community!
If you have any questions feel free to reach out to al[email protected] and we will get right back to you!
