Christa's Journey: Fighting for Every Moment
Christa's life has been a constant battle against the odds. Diagnosed with Leukemia at 2 and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) at 5, she's faced seizures, falls, and constant struggle. Though her childhood had its joy, the early 2019 grand mal seizure marked a turning point. Drop seizures, black eyes, and exhaustion became her grim reality.
Two brain surgeries offered temporary relief, but the tremors and emotional challenges remained. Frustrated and exhausted, I stumbled upon Neuro Sacral massages as an alternative therapy.
The therapist's finding was both heartbreaking and hopeful: Christa's muscles were locked in fight-or-flight, constantly on edge. Even gentle rocking was all she could handle. Yet, after that first session, her tremors softened, my heart soaring with newfound hope.
But the joy was short-lived. The tremors returned, six days later. Could more frequent massages hold the key to calming her body and mind? I believe they can.
This is why I'm reaching out. As a single parent working part-time, I can't afford these vital alternative therapies, both the regular massages and the psychotherapy Christa desperately needs to navigate her new wave of emotions.
I'm not asking for charity, but for a chance to give my daughter the tools she needs to fight. Every dollar will go towards these alternative treatments, a lifeline in a sea of unknowns.
