Andhra Christian Theological College Scholarship

From Christopher Tweel

More Info

ACTC is an ecumenical seminary governed by and accountable to the Church of South India, Lutheran, and Baptist churches. With Telugu as the medium of instruction, it serves the Telugu church not only training ministers but also by publishing books and composing songs in Telugu. With most of its faculty, staff, and students drawn from Dalit (historically untouchable) communities, it serves the socially disenfranchised Christians in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is important for those of us who feel the impetus of social justice here in America to recognize the profound affect our support can have of our brothers and sisters who are working to be pastors in a Christian minority against oppression and social pressure. Our goals will allow us to give a years' worth of tuition, room and board support for 2 students (one male, one female) to be chosen by the seminary based on need. The rest will go to fees to get the money to them from the US.
