Update #19

Update.....just got Mary out of the hospital tonight after another 9-10 days. I have talked to her oncologist who feels she is much to weak to travel. We are afraid to do more chemo because of the danger of causing organ failure to her heart, kidneys or lungs. Her lungs sound very good with no rattling or wheezing. I have called in a hospice team to help when they can as I am here sole caretaker 24/7. I am doing my best to keep her comfortable. We just want all of you to know how much we love each and everyone of you. Your presence in our live have made the unbearable better. I do have a favor to ask We are thrilled to get phone calls and email but if you are doing so on her phone or account we might not see them. We are routing everything thru my messenger or these updates. I would ask that if you could call between 7pm and 10pm, that would work best for all of us. I am averaging between 30-40 calls per day from friends, family , hospitals and doctors. Please refrain from calling all day as I am so far behind on most days it is so very hard to keep up.I have had up to 7 calls in one day from one person and others 3-4. calls. I can no longer physically deal with it. So try one a day from 7-10 pm. Please understand this is purely logistical as I am up many times all night and than woke up during my nap.BUT.......we so appreciate all of you.just help me make this situation manageable. Peace to all..........Chris

More Info

Please help me get Mary the health care she so needs. Conventional treatments are no longer working. She needs immunotherapy as well Genetic treatments. This is available but insurance will not cover this newer high tech treatment located in Arizona. This first round campaign will pay for the travel there, initial consultation, two days of testing and two weeks of learning the center. At that point we will know if any of this will help. THANK YOU. Bless you all.

Update #18

I thought I would leave an update here as i have received many many private messages and text messages about Marys latest condition. I couldn't sleep tonight so I figured it was a great time to give everyone interested an update. We did dodge a big bullet yesterday. We got the results of the lumbar puncture, known by most as a spinal tap. THERE WAS NO CANCER FOUND IN THE SPINAL FLUID. Thank you Jesus is all I can say. I really do not think Mary understood the significance of this but tonight at the hospital we discussed it again. Cancer in the spinal fluid, in case you don't know, leaves a person about 2-4 months according to the medical community. SO, we still have the problem that she can not walk or stay steady on her feet. Her team of doctors believe that there is a neurological problem that more than likely existed before the cancer was diagnosed.

There is a disease, very difficult to diagnose, that incapacitates 1 in every 250,000 people. It cause a block from the synapses in the brain from sending the correct signals to other parts of the body such as the muscle memory to the legs. We are waiting for the test results now. I will give you another update in a few days hopefully. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. Even though the campaign is officially over , the site is still accessible and we have had some new donations come in as the bills are mounting as we attempt to get Mary strong enough to be able to go to Arizona if they will accept us on a contingency basis. Until next time, again thanks to all of you for everything you do.......Chris

Update #17

Four hours left in our campaign. We did not meet the goal but I do not feel as though we have failed. So many of you gave of your time and money during this venture.. I am very worried and very tired and feel like I should be able to do more.for Mary. We spent the entire day to day at medical appointments. At the moment things are not very good and my heart breaks for Mary. The feeling of knowing there is a place that can help but will not because of the fact that they want a huge amount of money all up front, make me wonder about the hypocratic oath that they took. Her team her is lousy at communication and treatment. They really do not work well together and it is the wrong place to be. Tomorrow I will talk to the center once again to see if I can get her out of here. Absolutely the worst thing I have ever gone thru.. I now know what the word agonizing truly means. Please continue saying prayers for us or do whatever you do. I just want to say all of you will remain in our hearts as long as it beats. May God Bless you and your........Chris and Mary.

Update #15

Just a quick pit stop here on the Facebook. Really have not had time to do much of anything. Mary can no longer walk so I am pretty much a full time caregiver now. I will not be on here much as most days are busy from sun up to sun down. Talking with Mary's medical team to get a clearance to fly. I am desperately needing to get her to Arizona. Taking with the Arizona folks to talk them into accepting her without full payment. If you are texting my phone or leaving messages on the phone or on my PM's, please have patience I will get back with you. Five days left in the campaign. Looks like we fell short but that doesn't really matter or diminish in any way the donations that have been received. We are grateful for everyones help and concern as we go thru the roughest time we have ever faced. Continued prayers would be good. Thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

Update #14

Update for Mary Thursday morning March 14th. Has been a very rough few days. Radiation treatments the first three days of the week. We woke up at about six and Mary can not walk. Her legs and knees were swollen and I was concerned about a possible blood clot. I called EMS and they have taken her to the hospital. As soon as I can get off the dialysis machine I will be going down there to be at her side. I am afraid things are not going well right now so I NEED ALL YOU PRAYER Warriors to help here. I am exhausted and I know Mary is also. This has been a very long and tiring ordeal. Your prayers will mean a lot to us. We are hanging in there. Thank you to all of you!

Update #13

Good morning to everyone. Today is an update day, Saturday March 9th, on Mary's health condition and the condition of the Fundly Campaign. Mary First. Unfortunately, as we knew it would if we could not get to the specialists, the cancer has spread. There are masses in her back, hips, femur, neck and left lung. We are not happy about continuing the protocol we are on but have no choice at the moment. I will explain below how that can change. Starting Monday we are taking radiation on the 1st lumbar as we do not want that to spread and risk paralysis. We will do 10 treatments which means every day for the next two weeks. After that, we are scheduled to get on Optiva to shrink the tumors. The neck tumor you can feel externally, so if Optiva works we will visibly be able to see it.
We have 12 days left in the Fundly campaign and are halfway home. I have left no stone unturned and have been disgusted with the insuranceS inability to pay for treatment. Not only will it not pay for Arizona, but it will not pay for Chipsa, Cancer Center of America, Mayo Clinic, MD. Anderson, Cleveland Clinic but we are covered at a few here in OKC. So we continue forward with what I know is inferior normal cookie cutter protocol. So I have made a big decision.
I have on my desk a Sales Contract as I have a buyer for our farm. I also had an offer for our land in Nevada we bought 15 years ago. I am also going to liquidate all investments and cash for our retirement. I will also include ALL DONATIONS we have received to this point. I will still be a bit short to get the specialized treatment but everything we own is being actively put up for sale except for one vehicle. Like they say at the poker table....ALL IN! Once more as we are winding up the campaign, I want to thank all of you who have donated and spread our URL. IT HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE. We ask that you PLEASE keep spreading this URL over the next twelve days and we ask for your continued prayers and thoughts and wishes. Once more the URL is https://fundly.com/arizona-cancer-treatment-for-my-darling-
Thank all of you so much for your continued support.

Update #12

We are having a problem with our URL. I am working with fundly now to correct it. For now please us the big button below to make a donation to our campaign. I will let everyone know when the URL is working. It was out most of yesterday when I got several private messages saying the page was gone. So we need your help even more since we have lost several days of the campaign due to technical problems. Again we want to thank all of you for your generous giving. Keep spreading the URL. Thanks to all of you.

Update #11

There are stage 4 cancer patients that have survived for over 10 years and some even longer. These newer treatments involve traditional treatment yet with so much more. It is imperative that these treatments and results be recognized so insurance companies will approve their practices. Treatments are very expensive and out of reach for MOST patients as insurance does not cover these treatments. Please donate at https://fundly.com/arizona-cancer-treatment-for-my-darling-… to help get Mary the treatment she so desperately needs. Your loving and generous actions are so humbly and gratefully received. Thank you again to each and every one of you.

Update #9

We received a fake donation for $1 today that was settled by Fundly.com and it has blocked us from receiving donations by not correctly posting Facebook posts. So we are definitely now a day behind in our fundraiser. We are trying to get this fixed now. Continue to distribute the URL which is https://fundly.com/arizona-cancer-treatment-for-my-darling-mary. Again thank you to everyone out there supporting this campaign.

Update #6

Thank you to everybody that keeps us moving forward. We are now approaching $3500 in the first round of our fund raising.. Today we got the news that Blue Cross Blue Shield has denied covering our PT SCAN that was supposed to be done last Friday and rescheduled for this Friday. Our oncologist is going to recode it and see if he can get it approved. Pretty lousy deal. Thanks Blue Cross. The point being you never know when this could happen to you or a loved one. Precious time should not be wasted. Again thank you and spread this link to any place or person you can.

Update #5

We wanted to be sure to stay in touch with everyone on everything that is going on.with us. Friday the 15th we had an oncology appointment. Mary did a lab and the results were very good as far as bloodworm goes. She also took a brain MRI and the MRI came back clear but we know how that can go. We are waiting on Insurance approval, hopefully early in the week, that would get us a PT Scan of all her organs to see if there is any more spreading. We talked to our oncologist to see if she is covered for OPDIVO. Once the scan report come in, I will send all her records to the Center in Arizona. Keep praying for us and again we are very humbled by all your support. Round one of funding is moving along very well thanks to all of you that are supporting our effort. WE are about to hit the $3000 mark after only 4 days. Ya'll are awesome. Please spread our link any place you can. Love to all..........Chris and Mary
