Art for a cause

One year ago I packed whatever I could fit in my truck and drove 3000 miles away from Maine, my lifelong home, to Wilson Wy. I wanted to hit the restart button. I left behind everything for self discovery and healing. 

As a domestic violence and sexual assault survivor I have an opportunity to help others. I am a budding sketch artist and abstract leather jewelry maker. Art is my therapy for healing from the trauma. My goal is to travel the Western United States to art festivals and fairs selling my goods and raising awareness to the public as well as donating time and a portion of sales to the organization NO MORE. 

If awarded, funds will be used for out of state licensing, travel, booth fees and lodging expenses. I recently became unemployed and am using my time in between interviews to get my business off the ground. 

I never sought help or justice and I want to help educate people on the resources that are out there. I would also like to mentor someone who chooses art as an outlet for emotion.
