The Finleys are raising money to procure and renovate a camper to live in to combat the rising housing costs in the PNW! A time crunch means WE NEED YOUR HELP! Let's do this!

Hey all
Those of you who know The Finleys know that their life has been a whirlwind (romance) from the beginning. We could discuss all of the details, but, long story short -- as singles, as a couple, and then as a small family; we have lived in 5 different places in 5 short years. Two years ago we were given the "opportunity of our dreams" which .. without getting negative or trudging up the past .. just was not the case. Not even a year after we spent all of our savings to move across country to assist a family member, we appeared to be shipwrecked on the west coast! Thankfully after that traumatic situation ended, we were offered by a long time friend of Ashleigh's to move in with her in Lakewood, WA. It was ALWAYS our goal to end up in PNW, and by some weird flukes, chances, overwhelming support, and a lot of sacrifice, we have made it this far! Unfortunately after all of our jumping, running, scrambling to make it work, we really don't know how we can get a head start on our next step. Housing in North Carolina was already an issue, but in Washington state (especially the sound), the cost of living is astronomical! We feel that the best way to combat and get a one up on this issue would be to save up for a Camper or RV so that we KNOW that we will not be homeless. Or that if we end up homeless, we can be homeless in a home. Our belongings have been in storage for the better part of a year, and we already had to leave a lot behind, so we sort of look forward to the challenge of a "tiny living" situation. We think it is the perfect timing! Violette will be 3 in August; we will be able to be close to her, spend more time with her, and save up for a proper foundation: Our TRUE goal is to get a plot of land and build our own house! We have been working hard for a LONG time but we can never seem to catch up or get ahead with all of the curveballs that are thrown at us. We try not to be people who ask for handouts -- we have been known in many communities as a family who barters, trades, and tries to work within their community to get things done. We know we can save for this for ourselves, but we know it would take us a lot longer on our own -- and this lease is up Jan 1, 2019. Instead of putting a big chunk down on a deposit for a rental we would be cramped in, we want to put it towards a portable living situation! We do not expect anyone to donate, but, at the same time we thought it would be stupid to not ask for help knowing how much helpful our tribe has been in our day to day lives. We are not asking for handouts! We are just asking for a hand up. We chose $5000 as our asking price because we have been scouring Craigslist and Facebook and assume we can find something that we can fix up on our own with some elbow grease in the $5-10K price range, which will keep us diligently putting money aside as well. Ashleigh has been searching hours for countless resources for things such as minimizing, building, renovating, where to buy, how to build, and all of our options. We feel committed to this cause. Feel free to skip over this, but please share it amongst your friends so maybe, just maybe, we won't have to tread water again.
