Hi everybody:

Thanks for stopping by. We appreciate your time, consideration, and support for our-your project.  My wife and I are the loving parents of Gustavo, a beutyfull, thriving and full of energy 10 year old boy, clinicly diagnosed level 1 within the Autism spectrum. At a very early age, we noticed that our son was not a tipical baby (Compared to Armando, his 6 year old brother at the time). He was somehow retracted and kept doing some repetitive movements with his head and arms all the time. At the begining, we paid no mayor attention to this, and just consedered it "Kid`s Stuff". As time passed by it was obviously that we needed some kind of help. The problem was, that we had no idea of who to reach for professional assistance. We talked with his pediatrician, and he said that in his opinion, its was just a kid playing around, and that eventually he would stop acting strange. Well, guess what, he never changed. A friend of ours advised us to take him with a psycologist. To be honest, we felt insulted in a way. What was our friend trying to say? Was he insinuating that our son was "crazy" or something like that. Well, after giving it a thought, we decided to proceed with the psycological evaluation, and the results of this changed our lives forever.

At the begining we felt devastated. Our world was falling apart. How could our little child have this condition? What could we do to “make him normal”, how do you fight with something that you totally ignore. Day after day, and with the support of our family, we managed to get along in this turbulent period of time. Our minds and souls were focused on "curing" our kid, so we did everything that was in our hands to help him. Neurologycal and psycological evaluations, ocupational and language therapy, psycopedagogy, food allergy test (IgG, + C. albicans, S. Cerevisiae 94, parasitology stool analysis, toxical elements hair analysis, Gluten ,Casein and sugar free diet, private tutors…you name it, we did it. This has been a long journey, with ups and downs like a rollercoaster, but after 10 years of living, loving and enjoying Gustavo, we give thanks to god for giving us this very special angel, that has been our teacher, guide, and a blessing. Today he studies third grade in a normal elementary school, surrounded by other neuro-tipical children of his same age. We can`t say that its been easy, or that he is a 100% tipical young boy, but one thing is for sure, he advances every single day into becoming a healthy and happy person.

Our experience has made us believe, that the hands-on, day to day interaction with our autistic son is something we must share with other parents in our country, and around the world. There is so much to do, say, explain, and avoid when dealing with a person that is in the spectrum (Asperger – Austim). We don’t want to make this about us and our son. Our main interest is to help other parents, siblings, or friends, that might not have all the experience, tools and resources required to handle the psychological, emotional and physical needs of their love ones.

For this reason, we need your urgent help in order to build an informational plataform (Interactive Webpage), that will initially be based and focused on  Venezuela where we live (There is a humanitarian crisis in this country where people can barely eat). We expect that in the near future,  this portal can become the spanish speaking refference  website on Asperger – Autism.  Please help us make it real.
