More Info

March, 2015, a civil war erupted in my home country Yemen. Today, the UNICEF aid director in the region warns that the children in the war-inflicted towns (mostly in the south) have reached dangerous levels on malnutrition. Many people have become homeless and without money to pay for a hard and expensive survival. My family was one of the many families that had to leave where they belonged behind, within a few hours notice, in vehicles that kept getting targeted by the Houthi (aggressors) snipers. In many moments, my parents and three brothers could see their lives slipping away.

The war is most fierce in my hometown Aden. There, lives have become comparable to a gallon of gas. Or sometimes nothing.

The less fortunate people are still stranded in the west parts of Aden, under siege, fighting starvation, dehydration (Summer temp. of +100F) and fatal outbreaks of cholera and dengue fever. Until there is a way for them to escape, rescuers on ground try to deliver them food, water and medicine whenever there is a chance.

Aden Rescue is a community-based initiative that was started by a Social Justice college student, Shadia Jalal, to join efforts and help refugees get what they need of food and medication. The nonprofit also organizes youth to provide essential town services such as getting rid of the town's garbage and directing refugees to shelters in schools and mosques. This is Aden Rescue facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rescueaden

The money you will be donating will go directly to Aden Rescue, where they will use it to provide food and medication supplies to refugees.

To help raise these funds, I will be solo cycling from Nashville, TN to New Orleans, LA. A 600miles plus trip, within 16 days, starting June 13th. It's a personal challenge that I would like to dedicate to all the war victims in Yemen.

Every donation, no matter how small, will be well appreciated.
