Bringing Mom Home

From Molly Vallerie

My family and I are raising money for cremation costs so we can bring her home to New England, and scatter her ashes in her favorite places. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated! we had to pull a loan out in order to get my mothers remains cremated. The road trip back east will not be until August/September. My mother was an amazing woman, she had her faults, her flaws, and her famous ups and downs. Regardless of all the bad, she was pure, Her laugh was contagious, her heart was endless, and her mind was a weapon. She used to always say -- "NEVER FIGHT WITH A WRITER, WE WILL DESCRIBE YOU,"

More Info

My mother had a passion for music, a love for the ocean, and a heart that could heal a million souls. She was more than generous, in fact almost too generous, but very prideful. I know for a fact, my mother would smack me for making this fundly account.

I almost lost my mother at the age of nine, when her first breast cancer made itself known. She told me, despite being raised jewish, that she wanted to be cremated and be taken to Chesterfield Gorge in our birthplace of Massachusetts. My brother and I will be going there and many other places in New England, playing each and every song that symbolizes those moments. If you knew my mom, i consider everyone of you very lucky.. because you'll never meet another woman like her. She fought for 25 years. Defeated breast cancer twice, cervical cancer, bladder cancer, and thyroid cancer. Unfortunately the breast cancer came back metastatic and only gave my mom a few more months to live out her life. Sixty years old is far too young, but she made the best out of her life that she could and if I have half the strength she had, I know I will be ok. <3
