I am raising money for my dearest friend Kari. Kari is a 28 year old super star who is as proud as the State of Texas. Kari has suffered from moderate to sever ailments for the past 15 years with huge medical bills.
Kari would never ask for help because she doesn't want people to feel sorry for her. She always feels guilty when anyone helps her because she is a wonderful soul. Kari first came into my life when she was trying to gain strength after a surgery. My husband and I were Personal Trainers near by and she came in for training. She had little physical stregth but the determination of a warrior. She showed up ready to fight with everything she had and her heart hasn't changed an ounce over the years. She is a fighter and light in our world and we want to do everything we can to help her.
Kari's medical journey started when she was a young teen. Undergoing a specialized never performed wrist surgery. Since that day she has dozens of surgeries varying from tumors, thyroid and repair on internal organs. Kari has had several stents in the hospital which all come a significant costs.
Truth be told Kari has thousands of medical bills stacked up going to collections. Her last bout in the hospital lasted a month and keep her from working. She was placed on a pic line and feed through a tube for weeks on end causing her body to weaken. In her compromised state she is not able to work and not able to be out because of COVID19. Thanks Rona!
Our local fundraising events we had planned have been postponed till we know it is safe for Kari to be around. As of right now there is over $15,000 in outstanding bills that are either in collections or on there way, with more arriving weekly. Kari's parents have assisted in supporting Kari in her journey and the stress and burden has been tremendous on them. At this stage in her life, Kari is too kind to ask for help given all the sacrifices her family has made for her over the years.
Kari is the best person I know and the stress of the bills eats at her and slows the healing process. She has created a side business to try and earn money when she has the strength. Although Kari is in recovery from her last operation her condition is not stable. She still has dozens of doctors visits in the horizon with more tests to be ran and procedures to be done.
As we firmly believe no gift is too small. Every little bit helps. We know life is hard for a lot of people right now and if you are not able to help, we ask for your prayers. Prayers for healing and grace on Kari in her medical journey.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
100% of money earned will go to Kari's medical bills and medication cost.
