I know  that a lot of people are struggling right now, and no matter what you believe in, it is true that people are hurting and need encouragement and hope during this time. Last year, one of the trips I was fortunate to go on was a trip to Uganda. The missionaries that housed us while there have such a heart for the Ugandan people and empowering them in every way possible. I’ve added some pictures of the beautiful souls I got to visit in their homes, talk with, and pray over. On Monday, April 20, the UN’s World Food Program stated that the number of people suffering from a severe food shortage is expected to nearly double by the end of this year. There are a lot of other statistics I could go on about, but while most of us watching this video do not have to worry about literally starving to death, there are some people who do face this issue every single day. During this time of the COVID-19 there is a growing problem as the need for food gets even bigger all across the world. In light of this, I’ve started a support system to offer donations and prayers for those affected by the lack of access to food. If you feel called and are able to give, even the smallest amounts will do wonders! I have been to Uganda within the past year and have formed relationships with people who will make sure that this money will go directly for food directly to lovely locals. In addition to food, Ugandan seamstresses affected with HIV and AIDS have been making masks for the local Ugandans to help the spread of COVID-19. I got to meet some of these women and go to their homes this summer, which was incredible. The masks are $2.50 a piece, and the proceeds will go directly to these women to be able make these masks and will also empower these women who have no choice  but to work and not stay home, because if they do, food and basic necessities won’t even be an option. First, please lift these people up in prayer if you are a believer. Second, if you feel called and are able to, you can donate any amount for food purchases or buy a mask or 2! I know we’re all struggling during this time, but the opportunities that lie before us are still present: different than they were, but still present.
