Family homes in Kobane city need to be rebuilt following the earthquake. Unlike across the border in Turkey major international aid organizations cannot reach the area due to the contentious political situation.
Kobane was 70+% destroyed as the residents fought to defeat ISIS 8 years ago, so families have already dipped into their savings to rebuild. Now, they need help to do it all over again so their houses are safe to live in. The economic situation here is already abysmal, and they are currently getting no help. All the photos you see on this page were taken by families in Kobane in the past few days. Due to power politics, embargoes and border closures still imposed by Turkey, international aid organizations are not able to operate here, not IRC, not Save the Children, not the Red Cross...it has to come from a different channel, directly from us. Thank you so much for your support.
