Displaced Family

From Sandra McClintock

Many have been affected by covid and the aftermath and we are no exception. Our family has been unable to share a home since 2020. All we want is to hold our (five) children and see their happiness returned.

In 2020, my husband lost his job due to being a non-essential employee. My job could not sustain our living expenses, this forced us to rely on savings to cover our needs with five children and bills. That did not last long at all. I was forced to relocate to Virginia with our children to stay with my sister and her family. With so many people my husband was not able to join us and opted to live closer to more work inclined areas. Unfortunately, work was limited with the virus and neither of us had the means of transportation. This was a temporary situation; However, for the past couple of years we have been paying for rooms that will accommodate as many of us as possible.

With no stability, financial or housing, we were forced to rely on credit cards until we found suitable employment. Throughout the past three years we have addressed and solved issues such as employment and means of transportation, but we have accrued debt trying to get this far. We are playing catchup with little progress. In the current economy and with the debt acquired, getting caught up while maintaining sustainability for every day living, has been near impossible.

We have not been able to live together under one roof since 2020. All we want is to be a healthy family in a happy home again. We are thankful for anything donated and offered that we can put towards achieving this goal.
