On October 17, 2015, I am walking in the Albany Police Department's Domestic Violence Unit's 2nd Annual 5k walk/run to raise awareness for domestic violence. I am walking in memory of my mother, Millie Bruso Dunbar.
As many of you know, my mother Millie was a victim of domestic violence. Unfortunately, she lost her life to it on October 9, 2003. Over the past 12 years, I have worked hard to share her story, hoping that it will help at least one person.
Domestic Violence affects so many people, in so many ways. In 2014 alone, 45% of female homicides and 3% of male homicides were victims from domestic violence incidents in NYS.
I am holding this fundraiser and participating in the October 17, 2015 walk in my mother's memory. Please help me reach my goal of $1,200. All proceeds will go to the Albany Police Department's Domestic Violence Unit. Any amount would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
