Andrew “Big Drew” Carter born in the birthplace of JAZZ, New Orleans, on September 4, 1992. Born into an African American creole family in the Gentilly area that frequented musical events such as Jazz Fest, Mardi Gras parades and concerts as well as spending family time walking in the French Quarter listening to music and more than once stopping to move to the sound of an impromptu Second Line Jazz Band street concert.

After moving to Thibodaux he began playing basketball and football to the up to the collegiate level.  During a visit to an elderly relative he began playing a very aged ukulele and something sparked a desire to play the stringed instrument. He fervently began playing the ukulele then moving to the acoustic guitar, in less than eleven months he was able to not only cover popular songs but began to write his own music. As his skills began to increase he was introduced him to people in the music industry who invited Andrew into the studio to develop his musicianship.

Andrew says his musical influences include Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, John Meyer, Robin Thick, Bob Marley, B. B. King, James Taylor, Lil’ Wayne; Earth, Wind and Fire and his cousin Aaron Neville just to name a few.

He also received strong influences from the Baptist Church when he spend most Sundays worshiping with his family, listening to his mother Pearlette Carter lead praise and worship. This has carried over to his recently being asked to lead praise and worship in a local church.

Andrew plans to continue to working on his music and hopes one day to share his gift with the world.

In order to accomplish this dream Andrew needs new and quality equipment. Thanks in advance for all of you that can see and help the dream become a reality.
