There just isn’t anyone who doesn’t love Ed Karlovich! He’s a loving father, beloved older brother to a large close-knit family, and a well-respected friend and neighbor in the community. He is a talented guitarist and vocalist. His most satisfying moments in music are the times he and his son have jammed together. Ed held down the high harmonies, but now he can no longer sing.

He has a true gift for communicating and has a knack for seeing the bigger picture. Working in business development and consulting, he found friends among his many clients as he helped them to build their small businesses that still contribute to their local economies today. He has been unable to work for months and can no longer communicate verbally.

In addition to his music and guiding business owners to success, one of his favorite past times is cooking. He’s quite a chef, but has been unable to eat the foods he loves for the past several months. He has been dealing with a serious health issue, Naso-Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma, often referred to as throat cancer. Generally people diagnosed with this disease have about six months to live after the diagnosis is given. Ed is beating the odds by a long shot!

He has made a decision to use a blend of holistic and traditional medicine to heal the cancer. He is working closely with his acupuncturist who is very knowledgeable and has worked with many cancer patients with great success. He is also being followed by his primary care physician. He is determined to avoid the ravages of chemotherapy and radiation which often weakens the body through the destruction of organs and the immune system. The introduction of a new bio drug by his acupuncturist is giving Ed new hope in being able to put the cancer in remission.

Ed also believes in the healing power of Spirit, or God, and has turned the outcome over to that power, willingly going through the physical actions still needed for any desirable result. He is approaching his healing process from a place of true consciousness, following inner guidance and trusting that everything is in Divine order. After much introspection he now believes that cancer doesn’t kill, it heals. He believes that the cancer is here for a life lesson. The “cancer experience” has changed him. He has evolved significantly as an individual since beginning his healing process. He also trusts that his spiritual component to holistic treatment has lead him to the right people and decisions to undo the illness, and has allowed his life to be extended so much longer than normal.

Ed’s spirit and determination to live has truly amazed the medical community. He is a miracle!

Although he has good health insurance it will not cover his supplements, the new bio drug or acupuncture visits.

He already has a sizeable debt that needs repaid.

His current expenses include:

  • $500 a month for the cancer bio drug

  • $400 per month supplements and medical supplies

  • $300 per month for acupuncture visits

  • Insurance co-pays for doctor visits and prescriptions

These expense totals are pared to the bone. Ed can cover about $150 of these expenses with what's left of his disability income each month, but the rest is provided through the generosity of many people.
