Eye Surgery For My Best Friend, a Shih-Tzu Named Kevin Spacey

Eye Surgery For My Best Friend, a Shih-Tzu Named Kevin Spacey

From Richard Allen

Spacey had emergency eye surgery. There's a good chance he'll need more. Help him (and me) pay the hefty vet bill.

A Final Thank You

Earlier this week Spacey had his final vet appointment and the doc gave him the all-clear. He's probably going to be a little funny-looking the rest of his life, but even though his eye is pointing the wrong direction he can still see out of it and he shouldn't need any more surgery or medication for the foreseeable future. So I just wanted to say thanks to everyone one more time. You're the best.

An Update on Spacey

Hey friends! I'm happy to report that Spacey has been doing super well since his surgery. He went back to the vet to have his stitches out and the doc told me that it doesn't look like he's had any further infection or complications so far. He's still got a couple weeks of recovery ahead of him but if things keep going well he should get to keep the eye and be back to his regular self soon (with slightly impaired depth-perception!) Thank you again to all of my friends, friends of friends and general Spacey-lovers who gave money to help cover this surgery. It's been more helpful than you could possibly know for me to just be able to concentrate on keeping Spacey well and not having to panic about how I was going to be able to pay the vet bill. You all are the greatest and me and Spacey are lucky to have you. Thanks.

Thank You!

Spacey has the best friends in the world. I'm beyond thankful to everyone who has chipped in to help us. He's been handling post-surgery life well and getting lots of rest. Tomorrow he's getting his stitches out and the vet will let us know how the recovery has been going.

Again, thank you so much to everyone who has helped out. You are all due some serious dog-sitting-on-your-lap time. Of course, more help would be appreciated just as much! Please feel free to share the donation page with anyone you know who has a soft spot for dogs in need and might be able to throw some bones Spacey's way.
