About The Team

Angela McDuffie (formerly Tolbert) is in her twentieth year as a Fatherhood Practitioner.  As Chief Executive Officer of Midlands Fatherhood Coalition (MFC), she governs operational and programmatic services and ensures fidelity for this organization.  MFC supports and teaches men to acknowledge their responsibility while providing trusted, missing links between fathers and beneficial professionals and resources. Angela genuinely believes that children thrive when an engaged and responsible father is active in their lives.

Angela is a trained Family Court Mediator for the State of South Carolina.  She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Webster University with a Masters in Counseling.  Angela is married to Terry Allan McDuffie and is the proud mom of Brooke, age 9, Noah, age 7, and the proud bonus-mom of college senior, Braxton, age 21.

Corey T. was an active participant while enrolled at Midlands Fatherhood Coalition.  Corey was making many strides in becoming more of an engaged father to his children.  Corey also harbored a secret.  He needed surgery around his lower torso.  This debilitating condition left him unable to work and, in the fight, to be deemed disabled from the state of South Carolina.  After many desperate attempts by Corey to raise funds for the expensive surgery, Midlands Fatherhood Coalition discovered his secret.  And through the due diligence of our nurse practitioner, funds were raised, and medical services were negotiated enough for Corey to have a successful surgery procedure.  Corey eventually received disability and was able to reduce the stress placed on his family due to his health challenges.

This is only one of many examples of why funds are needed to support the unpredictable health challenges and needs of our fathers.  In so many cases, our fathers are underemployed with no health benefits which contributes to their inability to effectively work when their health declines.  These conditions jeopardize their ability to be support their families financially.  Your meaningful financial donation and contribution will allot for health funds to be available for fathers who like Corey are desperately trying to make a successful pathway and future for their family.

In the age of Zoom meetings, it is important to have computers with cameras.  Our team is looking to raise $10,000 for IT upgrades that will allow our intervention specialists to work one-on-one with fathers. During COVID, especially,  it is both safer for staff, as well as being better for the fathers we serve.
