Update #5

Dear Lord, You are good. And You are good at being God. Therefore, I trust Your plan and believe that You're allowing this to happen for a reason. It may be hard, but I'd rather be close to You through a thousand difficult moments than apart from You in a thousand good ones. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

More Info

Universal Life Church Medical Ministries was founded by Dr. Samuel Riase, Jr., who has 40 years of experience as a practicing physician.  Dr. Riase has semi-retired from private practice but has a continued desire to be a blessing to others as he has been blessed and equipped to serve others. He believes in treating the whole person. Therefore as a team, our two-fold purpose will be to minister to the physical needs of the sick and suffering while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

As a medical arm of several well known charitable organizations, i will be placing volunteer Christian physicians, dentists, and other medical personnel in created mission hospitals and clinics around the world. I will also be staffing a biomedical warehouse that will store and provide critically needed medical equipment and supplies to medical mission facilities locally and throughout the world.  And, please note that all donations are tax-deductible since the church is a non-profitable charitable organization. Thanks.

Update #4

Greetings Donors and Supporters:

It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving and Christmas are upon us again. How did this year fly by so quickly?
Tomorrow many of us in the U.S. will gather with loved ones to give thanks for all the blessings that God has delivered unto us. Whether you’re grabbing one of many seats around a large family table, sitting down for a meaningful meal with a few close friends, or plan on spending the day by yourself, we would encourage you to set aside just a little bit of time to acknowledge and appreciate what – and who – you have in your lives.
This small act of self-reflection allows for a deeper appreciation of all the advantages and good fortune we enjoy in our daily lives. In recognizing the many blessings we share, we are also reminded that many people go without those same benefits we too often take for granted.
Thanksgiving and Christmas is also a time for unity. Every morning we wake up and are confronted by an extremely divisive chapter in human history. But, despite what politicians and pundits may suggest, existence is not a competitive sport and life on Earth need not be played like a contentious zero-sum game. The human mind is capable of amazing things – let’s aim to use it to lift one another up as we search for abundance and meaning on this journey, rather than waste that tremendous gift engaging one another in battle.
Come tomorrow, you may find yourself seated across from someone with whom you disagree. We would challenge you, if only for just one short meal, to set aside your squabbles – however passionate about them you may be – and instead focus on what brings people together during the holiday season in the first place: our innate love for one another, our shared awe in the majesty of the human spirit, and the unassailable bond we all share as brothers and sisters. This Thanksgiving, let us be reminded of – and thankful for – the one truth of which we can always be certain: we are all children of God, we wish a most Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

In peace and love,

Your Brothers and Sisters of the Worldwide Medical Missions Church Ministries

Update #3

Our organization want it supporters to know that we are doing good things to help people, however small. And as many of us could think little of it, It turns out to be a huge thing for them that are in need.

On today Wednesday, November 7, 2018, our organization provided a dinner to a male individual that approached me in a local grocery store asking for work and food. Since I didn’t have any work for him to do, further conversation lead to his legal residence and his ability to work. It became apparent to me that he was physically handicapped on the right side of his body and unable to work. He told me he was hungry and with a food deli nearby I ordered him a meal on location and paid for it. He was grateful and it was extremely gratifying to me as well as our organization to be of service to him.

Update #2

Our organization is continuing to grow. I wish to welcome and offer a great thank you to our newest team members. You’re the ones making it possible to GIVE!

On my journey today, October 25, 2018, I encountered two opportunities to GIVE. I stopped at a interstate highway rest area to place a couple of business phone calls when I was approached by a gentleman riding with friends. He stated he was homeless and was short on the amount of money he needed to complete his trip...going to New Orleans to see his father who is ill. I vetted him methodically to get answers to qualify him as to some one to give a cash donation to. I carry organizational cash for just such an opportunity to help someone out of a difficult situation. I think we have all been there in life when we needed a helping hand to be elevated to the next level. If we never been in such a place, count your blessings. It’s not to say you want ever end up asking for a handout someday.
As I’ve always heard it, “You reap what you sow”. So let us try and do good when we can.

Upon arriving at my destination at a Birmingham City Community Center, I inadvertently engaged in a conversation with the administrative staff of the Center who had the phone number of a homeless lady that was inquiring about her chances to get some health insurance. Yes, homeless living in a storage shed and not being able to supply her basic needs. It a blessing how God positioned me this day in particular to be a blessing to this woman and the man earlier for the opportunity to be able to provide her with some form of healthcare benefits and him $5.00 and some change. I was able to present her with a free health insurance card where she will receive up to 75% off name brand and generic prescription drugs at all the major pharmacies. She will also be able to get as much as 70% off labs and imaging services. She will simply take the card to the Dr’s Office and Pharmacy to receive up to 80% off certain medical bills. In addition, future plans are to provide this lady with some additional assistance with food and clothing. God has placed a calling in my life to help those that need help. All we need to do is look around us and we will see many needs of the less fortunate. Help someone if you can.

Update #1

By this time, we have all heard of the devastation in the Gulf of Mexico caused by Hurricane Michael affecting Panama City Beach and Mexico Beach, FL. Our humanitarian campaign has made the first of several monetary donations to be made through our local news affiliate WRBC Channel 6 News to help with the relief efforts that will be going on for sometime. Our prayers be with them that are going through this difficult time.
