Free Kidney Disease Screenings with Brown University KDSAP

From Elizabeth Kahn

I'm raising money for Brown University's chapter of the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program! We provide free screenings in medically underserved areas of Providence for signs of Chronic Kidney Disease.

More Info

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is the #8 cause of death in the United States, and since its symptoms so often go unnoticed, it is a silent killer that disproportionally affects people who lack access to medical care and regular check-ups. CKD is often undiagnosed until a patient requires expensive, invasive treatments such as dialysis or kidney transplantation.

At the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program at Brown, we want to prevent CKD from causing any more suffering in our community by providing free kidney health screenings to the medically underserved public. We are undergraduates at Brown University who care about medicine and health advocacy, and we organize and run our own clinics with trained student volunteers.

Help us achieve our goal by donating money that will go towards purchasing urinalysis machines, blood pressure meters, glucometers, and other medical supplies that we need to run our clinic!
