Rebuild Molocaboc Island Project

The little-known island of Molocaboc was hit last November 8 by the worst typhoon in human memory. Typhoon Haiyan came and left rubble where wooden dwellings formerly stood – laying to waste a lifetime of simple, but hard-won, possessions. Today, far from the saving reach of media, the islanders continue to brave the elements as they slowly and silently put a roof over their heads – delighting in whatever is left. A thousand Haiyan’s cannot break an indomitable spirit. With your help, surely Molocaboc will rise anew – for after the darkest storm, comes a brighter sun.

"This charity is very close to my heart as my brothers and I are the only kids from Molocaboc island that had the opportunity to grow up in America. Leaving behind my family in Molocaboc has been one of the hardest things but it's always given me the strength to do everything I do for them. Now more than ever I do it for them as it has inspired me to create the charity "Friends of Filipinos" and launch the "Rebuild Molocaboc Island Project" as the first goal in aiding typhoons victims. Together we can help rebuild the homes and restore the hopes of the Filipino people. "
