Anyone who has ever met Ron Leick knows 3 things. 1) He loves his truck, "the 'ole black and white" 2) He would give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need and 3) That he is the last of a dying breed, the kind of man with a strong moral code that has never once been afraid to stand up for what he believed to be right.
Grandpa Ron, as many of us know him, has spent his entire life taking care of those around him. Always willing to lend a hand, give a ride, or provide a place to stay to anyone who needed it. He has put his friends, family and neighbors first and never asked for anything in return.
What Ron has talked about wanting to do most while he's still able is to see Gettysburg and Truman's library. Several years ago Ron purchased a travel trailer with the dream of setting out on his own adventure and making it all the way out to the east coast. As the time has passed it has become clear that Grandpa will not be able to take that trip. Watching Grandpa slowly realize that was heartbreaking.
My goal is that together we can send Grandpa on his dream trip while his mind is still with him. His two grandsons, Michael and Eric, plan to go with him. I hope to pool at least 3k to cover the costs of flights, hotels, transportation, tours and meals. If you are in a position to contribute, it would be so very appreciated. This trip will mean the world to a man that has meant the world to so many.
