iCAN Technology Program
According to the National Center on Family Homelessness, the United States has the most significant number of homeless women and children among industrialized nations. Here are some facts on homelessness in America:
Homeless families comprise roughly 34% of the total U.S. homeless population.
Approximately 1.6 million children will experience homelessness throughout year. In any given day, researchers estimate that more than 200,000 children have no place to live.
People counted in the single adult homeless population (about 2.3-3.5 million annually) are also part of families:
Among all homeless women, 60% have children under age 18, but only 65% of them live with at least one of their children.
Among all homeless men, 41% have children under age 18, but only 7% live with at least one of their children.
The typical sheltered homeless family is comprised of a mother in her late twenties with two children.
84% of families experiencing homelessness are female-headed. This is due to many factors:
Most single-parent families are female-headed (71%).
Single-parent families are among the poorest in the nation and as such, are extremely vulnerable to homelessness.
Families of color are overrepresented in the homeless population. Nationally:
43% are African-American
15% are Hispanic
38% are White, Non-Hispanic
3% are Native American
My name is Sheneeza Volcov, and I am the President of His Kindness Foundation, a 501(c)3. For years I have in my private life been a raven at a brook or widow woman caring for a family in need(Reference 1 Kings 17:2-16). I have always had a heart for women and children in need and have had the privilege to make a difference in the lives of women privately. Recently, a young lady and her daughter came along my path. She suddenly found herself homeless when her roommate decided to move to another state. I felt led to make her my daughter's nanny while she secured an apartment and found a better job opportunity. Walking with her through that season of my life did something to me. It made me realize many women like her, who are talented and gifted, find themselves in such precarious situations. It was in that season His Kindness Foundation was born. To learn more about His Kindness Foundation, visit www.hiskindnessfoundation.com.
Our Solution
This January 21st of 2019, we plan to launch the Shift H2E Program and iCAN Technology Program. The focus of the these programs is to take women from homelessness to entrepreneurship. Our goal is to SHIFT 100 homeless women this year. We have created a 5 step process to ensure that the women who SHIFT out of homelessness never return to that condition. Here is our 5 step process:
Step 1: We believe you cannot SHIFT a person's life without first shifting the way they think. Our first job is to shift them from a poverty mindset to an entrepreneurship mindset. Each woman is required to complete our intake process which includes completing all of the courses in the SHIFT Academy. Here is a list of those courses:
Bounce Back From Financial Ruin
Credit Restoration 101
Personal Finance Basics
Wealth Building Strategies
Entrepreneurship 101
Step 2: According to Upwork and Freelancers Union, 57.3 million Americans are freelancing (36 percent of the U.S. workforce) and contribute approximately $1.4 trillion annually to the economy. Freelance workforce growth is accelerating and has outpaced overall U.S. workforce growth by 3x since 2014. Through our iCan Technology Program, the women will be required to learn at least 5 of these fastest-growing and most in-demand freelance skills listed below:
Blockchain
Information security
Tensorflow
Amazon DynamoDB
Voice over
Subtitling
Art direction
Content strategy
Computer vision
Microsoft Power BI
Augmented reality
Chatbot development
React native
Go development
Media buying
Scala development
Machine learning
Adobe Premiere
Instagram API
AngularJS development
Step 3: Once the women have completed their training, we will assist them in establishing their own freelancing business as well as obtaining freelancing gigs. Also, we will provide them with the following:
Down payment assistance to get into an apartment.
Credit restoration services
A laptop computer
Step 4: Once the women have built a thriving freelancing business, we will assist them in launching their own e-commerce business.
Step 5: Once the women have built thriving freelancing and e-commerce businesses, we will begin training them how to do cryptocurrency trading as well as currency trading. We will help them set up their trading platforms and provide weekly mentoring to ensure they become successful traders.
In our ever-changing world economy, we here at His Kindness Foundation want to make sure we are preparing women and children in need for what we call the rise and dominion of the Tech Giants.
