After heavy snow, a series of deadly avalanches in NE Afghanistan have left hundreds dead in the Panjshir province. The Khaled Hosseini Foundation (TKHF) is raising funds to help our grantee, EMERGENCY, provide medical care to the survivors of this disaster. EMERGENCY runs the only fully functional hospital in the valley impacted by the avalanche.
The suffering and loss of life as a result of the avalanches in Northeastern Afghanistan is heartbreaking. Over 200 people have died in this avalanche, and the tragedy is made worse by the fact that the victims of the disaster were already living in tenuous, harsh conditions during a brutal winter. I hope you will join me in helping fund the desperately needed relief efforts for these victims.
