Lia is an 11-year-old girl that loves horses, drawing and being with her friends. Since being diagnosed with Leukemia, Lia's life has changed dramatically. She isn't able to attend school like her friends. And her compromised immune system means she can't go watch her brother's hockey games either. Lia's brother is a part of the South Florida hockey community as a member of the Golden Wolves Bantam AA team.
Lia has always been and still is a "happy soul." Her outlook has always been positive. The nurses at the treatment center love Lia.
Lia is a fighter, and the doctors are optimistic about her recovery. The treatment is tough stuff. Lia gets chemotherapy once a week at the hospital and daily chemo at home. She's frequently tired and nauseated. Most of her hair has fallen out but she holds her head high through it all.
Lia's family needs your help. The family’s health insurance doesn’t cover all of the considerable costs of Lia's multiple chemotherapy treatments and medications. Please consider helping this family through Lia's fight toward remission. Any donation will help no matter how small.
Thank you for your love, prayers and support!
