Help Me Stay in My Wheelchair-Accessible Home

From Rona k Mallicoat

Hello, my name is Rona Skow. I’m a 55-year-old disabled woman and paraplegic due to a car accident in 1984. Recently, I’ve faced heartbreaking challenges, and I’m reaching out for help to raise $10,000 by April 1, 2025

Hello, my name is Rona Skow, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support during a difficult time.My mother purchased it for us, and it has been a place of safety, love, and stability. Sadly, my mother passed away, and with her passing, I’ve encountered unexpected legal and financial challenges that threaten my ability to stay in the home she worked so hard to give us.

I am currently disabled from a car accident I was in 40 years ago, which left me confined to a wheelchair. As a result, I am on a fixed income and unable to work. Despite this, I am doing everything I can to learn new skills and explore ways to earn money online to support myself. However, the financial burden of paying off attorney fees and property taxes has become overwhelming.

The total amount I need to raise is $10,000 to cover the upcoming property taxes and legal fees associated with my mother’s estate. These bills must be paid by April 1, 2025, or I risk losing the home she bought for us.

**Why I Need Your Help:**

1. **Property Taxes:** The taxes for this year are due soon, and I simply don’t have enough funds to cover them.

2. **Legal Fees:** My uncle is the executor of my mother’s estate, and there are attorney fees and other costs associated with the probate process that need to be paid before we can fully settle the estate.

3. **Fixed Income:** As a disabled person on a fixed income, my ability to cover these costs is very limited. I'm learning about online opportunities to make money, but I need immediate help to stay in my home while I work on improving my situation.

This home means everything to me—it’s not just a house, but a place full of memories, and the thought of losing it is deeply painful. I am doing everything I can to stay afloat and take responsibility for my finances, but I need your help to bridge the gap until I can secure a more stable future.

**How You Can Help:**

Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will go directly toward paying the property taxes, legal fees, and other bills necessary to keep my home. If you're not able to donate, simply sharing my story with others would mean the world to me.

I also want to express my gratitude to anyone who takes the time to read my story. Every bit of support brings me one step closer to ensuring I can stay in the home my mother left me and continue to live independently.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.

With heartfelt thanks,

Rona Skow
