Many Nigerian schools aren't good. Students are clustered in a class and many of them share few books. Together, we can slowly change that.

HELP BUY BOOKS TO SUPPORT NIGERIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
In truth, I did not come up with this idea; rather, my school principal did.
I believe that every child should have the opportunity to read. What they decide to do with that opportunity however, remains to be seen.
In Nigeria, it seems that parents are beginning to agree with me. Accoding to https://www.ceicdata.com/en/nigeria/education-statistics, in 1999, the percentage of children enrolled in primary schools out of all children of primary school age was about 63%. However, in 2007, this figure had risen to over 71.6%. This may not seem like a huge number, but compared to the present population of Nigeria, which is about 200 million, it's a large number.
This increase in students means that classrooms are now more crowded, there are more pupils for every teacher and books are in short supply.
Schools rarely have sufficient budget to buy books, especially as pupil numbers have increased. Although some schools have access to textbooks, additional and complementary books, such as picture books, story books and simple readers are often hard to obtain. Without these books, it is much more difficuilt for children to learn to read. Any books we are able to donate will go a long way in educating the children. Every dollar counts.
