Jill has the opportunity to join her fellow students on an educational tour through school. It's sure to be an amazing and life-changing experience that will enhance her studies and promote cultural awareness.

Only those eighth graders who demonstrated a passion for learning more about the world and its people beyond U.S. borders were invited to travel to Dublin, York and London in Summer 2022.
Jill earned her spot with this essay:
I think I would be a good choice to take on this lovely trip to Dublin, York, and London because I am a very independent person who's ready to experience more of the world. Why do I think you should take me? Here's why!
I’ve always been able to adjust to new situations well, I’m not scared to try new things because even if I do something wrong there's always a way to bounce back from that and learn from it.
I love meeting new people and getting closer to people I already know, and I think this is a great experience to get closer to some of my friends and to some of the students in my grade that maybe I'm not that close to.
I would love to go on this trip because an opportunity like this doesn't come around too often so it's best to take advantage of it when it's right in front of you.
My parents went on their honeymoon in London and they have always wanted to take me and my brother there but they have never gotten the chance. Here's the chance for me to go.
I'm going to be honest I'm a little bit nervous to travel outside of the country because I have never done it before, but this trip will show me that there is nothing to be afraid of.
I’ve heard travel changes you, and I think that can only be for the best, especially because my generation shares in the responsibility of helping bridge people and cultures. I think this trip will show me and my classmates how we can begin to do that.
I’m grateful for this opportunity and hope I’m chosen to learn and grow as a person and a future world traveler.
Lastly, I just love having fun and bringing laughter and smiles to peoples faces.
Jill was asked to help raise funds for her travel expenses, which total a little more than $5,000, covering flights, transportation, accommodations, most meals and a tour guide.
She has made bracelets to sell at our local farmer's market and is hustling to find babysitting jobs. But Jill is also a savvy communicator and knows that to see the world, you should talk to the world. And that's what we hope to do.
Part of her fundraising effort will include learning about the places she'll go from the people who live there. With the help of her parents, Jill hopes to talk to people from Dublin, York and London, to learn more about the culture and what to expect. And she wants to share that with you.
