Hi, my name is Ali, and I’m a website developer. Back in November, I got laid off from my job as a developer at Codecademy. After 4 months, my savings have dwindled down to nothing, my unemployment benefits have only just been approved at the beginning of February, and I've only just been able to pay my bills. I’ve continued to look for work in the meantime, but that process moves slowly. I have two kids, one of whom has special needs, which makes job hunting a more arduous and effortful process than I wish it was. And unfortunately, I’m completely broke now.
I’m not the kind of person who finds it easy to ask for help—I pride myself on being a provider for my family. All of which is to say, thanks in advance for helping me get back on my feet again. You genuinely have no idea what it means to me. Whatever help you can offer will allow me to pay my rent and keep myself and my kids from being evicted.

As the saying goes, any bit helps. I appreciate you all supporting me in this struggle. I know we could all use a break and just know, given the situation we are all in, any help you can give does not go without the recognition of the weight that gesture and kindness holds.
