Hello everyone! Starting in September of 2023, I will be moving to Steubenville, Ohio to partake in a formation year called Inscape! After two years of mission work, I know that it is now time to rest in the Lord and just receive His love. My greatest desire for this year was to dive into my relationship with Christ and intensify my spiritual life like never before. When I discovered this program, every box was checked, and it was very clear that it was an answer to a very big prayer. It will be 9 months of a very intense and structured prayer life in community with other young women who feel that call to the silence. There are also three ministries we will serve in weekly:
The Harmonium Project: a nonprofit devoted to urban revitalization and the strengthening of community bonds through music, art, and theater
The Sycamore Center: an after school program for grades K-12
Urban Mission Ministries: an organization that provides food, shelter, and classes for the homeless and underprivileged in the Steubenville area
While we will occasionally work with these ministries, the primary focus of the year will be our prayer life and formation on personal vocation and development. When most people hear vocation they think of the "big V vocation," or in other words, the call to the religious, married, or single life. Sure, the big V vocation is part of it, but at its core it is how one loves and serves God in their own personal way through their personal gifts and talents. It is the call to love, the call to love Christ in whatever state of life you may be in. That is the personal vocation of every child of God.
That is what this year is all about, and words truly can not express how excited I am to begin this new chapter!
