Jey Lehew Art - Animal Rescue Awareness

I am a photographer living in Dallas and I never stop taking pictures of my rescue dogs (and sometimes cats!). I have worked with Animal Rescue and Animal Shelters for a decade and found that my passion for photography and dogs goes hand in hand. 

'Dogs don't get uncomfortable in front of a camera, like most people do. I find that they tend to come out of their shells and become little performers! When that personality shines through in a single photo and people see it online, potential adopters will want to come meet them either at the shelter or the foster home. These pictures are really helpful in finding their forever homes that much faster.'

I have taken some of my favorite photos and turned them into art pieces, them put them on various types of materials to hang on the gallery walls throughout my home. People that see them have asked that I come and take pictures of THEIR pets and do the same for them! 

It got me to thinking. When I lost the high paying corporate job that I HATED during the pandemic, I decided that was the time to go for it. I took what little savings I had and bought the right camera, editing software, props and studied everything I needed to know about all the latest and greatest effects programs. I went through the 72K (yes, you read that right) pictures I had taken over the past 7 years working with rescue and shelter dogs and found that SO many of them could have a profound effect on anybody that looked at them. 

Then I realized - I can't sell my photos and artwork on canvas, metal, wood, t-shirts, coffee mugs in any sort of reasonable turnaround time unless I have a decent sampling inventory that I can fulfill orders with right away! I can't ask customers to wait two or more weeks while I order it on my end and wait for the manufacturing and shipping, and that is just getting it to me. 

Your funds will be used to get my artwork/photos printed on various sized canvas, framed prints and posters to have in stock so that I can begin my sales on Amazon and Etsy. 

I am committed to donating 10% of the proceeds from my sales to Dallas Pets Alive, the Non-Profit Animal Rescue I have volunteered and fostered with for the last 8 years. Being a part of this rescue group has changed my life in such a profound way - I want to make sure that in addition to the lives I help save by fostering, I can help give back by bringing awareness to Rescue and Adoption, as well as contributing to DPA's Medical Fund that provides life-saving veterinary care for foster animals.
