Josie’s Surgery Fund

From Alyssa Hampton

Josie needs surgery to save her from a threatening tissue infection. She’s had two ineffective surgeries as a result of inaccurate diagnoses - we're optimistic that this surgery will finally resolve the issue.

More Info

I found Josie 4 years ago. It was 2019, I was moving into my first studio apartment, and I was worried I would be lonely. Little did I know, less than 6 months later I would be confined to my apartment due to COVID-19, and she would be the greatest choice I ever made.

Over the course of the past 8 months, Josie has had 10+ vet visits, 2 surgeries, Xrays, CT imaging, bacterial and blood tests, and has taken antibiotics and worn a cone for months on end while we've tried to understand what is causing this infection and how to treat it.

It's been a long, expensive road and it's not over yet. Our next step is yet another surgery, to remove all diseased tissue and test for different types of infection. We're hopeful for a positive outcome, as we have found great compassion and knowledge from from Dr. Bennett, Dr. Sung and the VCA team.

These expenses have piled on over the course of treatment, and has become insurmountable without asking for help. The donations will be used towards Josie's last surgery to resolve her health.

It's difficult to humble my pride and ask for support - but I would do anything to restore Josie's quality of life. Thank you for anything you can show in support, from donations of thought to financial donations.

Note: Josie's vet (VCA California Veterinary Specialists - Murrieta) does not accept direct donations. If you would like additional documentation to ensure the security of your donation, we can provide medical invoices, transaction details, etc. per request.
