KPMG’s Family for Literacy (KFFL) with the mission to improve childhood literacy. This spring, we’ll be taking on our biggest challenge to date: providing books to every child in 5 Title I schools within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System! In order to support this effort, we are holding a raffle with amazing gifts and experiences - 100% of proceeds will be used for KFFL's spring book distributions!

There are six separate packages being raffled and tickets can be purchased for individual baskets for the price of $5 each or five tickets for $20.  The packages will be displayed on December 3, 2016 at the town hall and the reception following the town hall in the office.  Tickets can be purchased in person by check or cash or online with credit card. When purchasing tickets online, click the 'Choose a Giving Level' and please be sure to specify which basket(s) you want your tickets to go towards in the 'Add message to campaign wall' (you can check the 'Send only to Owner' if you don't want it public). 

We will begin raffling off baskets on Wednesday, December 14, with the remainder of the baskets being raffled on Wednesday, December 21, as noted below for each package. Each raffle ticket you buy will also give you a ticket towards the grand prize drawing (described below)!

Package #1: Group Outing Package – Raffled on December 21

Package #2: Duo Night Package – Raffled on December 14

Test your intelligence with a friend at the Exit Strategy escape room challenge. Choose from six rooms: Queen City Bank Heist, Cabin in the Woods, Murder Mystery, The Final Sacrifice, Lost in Space or Quest of Honor. Exit Strategy has 4.5 out of 5 star rating out of 352 reviews on TripAdvisor and is listed as the #3 activity to do in Charlotte! Exit Strategy is conveniently located only 8 minutes from the office! The Exit Strategy gift certificate gives you 2 tickets on any night to a puzzle room of your choice.

Also included in the package, is two gift cards for 50 free wings at Hooters (for a total of 100 wings). Feel free to celebrate or sulk after your puzzle room experience at Hooters! 100 wings? Challenge accepted.

Finally, your package comes with a Charlotte Knight’s Baseball Basket! Looking for your Knight in Shining armor? Look no further! This basket contains your new favorite Larry Sprinkle bobble head, a Knights jersey t-shirt (adult size large), a pair of Knights sunglasses, a Knights cup, two Knights wrist bands, two Knights mardi gras beads, and a Knights poster! Triple A may be their title, but they are professionals in our heart.

Package #3: NASCAR Race Package – Raffled on December 21

Cheer on your favorite NASCAR drivers as they reach over 200mph at the home track for NASCAR! The Hisense 4K TV 300 is an annual 300-mile NASCAR Xfinity Series race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during Memorial Day weekend. Charlotte Motor Speedway will be packed with fans from all over the country. Tailgate, watch the race, and Uber home. This package gives you 4 tickets to the NASCAR Xfinity Hisense 300 on Saturday May 27, 2017.

Package #4: Golf Package – Raffled on December 21

Challenge your friends to a round of golf at Birkdale’s championship golf course located on 200 acres of terrain. The 18-hole Arnold Palmer designed course has been voted “Best New Golf Course in NC,” one of the “Top 5 Public Courses in the State,” and Charlotte’s “Best Public Course.” Then enjoy bragging rights over 100 wings at Hooters.

This package gives you a round of golf for 4 people at Birkdale golf course and 2 gift cards for 50 free wings each at a Hooter’s of your choice.

Package #5: Art Package – Raffled on December 14

Wine and guided painting – yes please! Wine & Design located in Dilworth is the perfect cure to busy season stress. An instructor will take you step by step through a painting and will make you feel like Picasso by the end of the night. This gift certificate is good for $25 at Wine & Design to help kick-start your new favorite hobby.

Additionally, this art package contains a painting by Studio Cellar’s very own Charlotte Gawkins and $10 gift card to Studio Cellar. Studio Cellar is a local social painting studio located in South End where everyone is welcome and no skills are needed. You choose your canvas size, painting guide (or free style it yourself), and paint at your own pace. It’s a place where you can pour your Art out with classes, paint bar, or a paint party with friends/family.

Finally, your package comes with three bronze candle holders that would be the perfect addition to your living room (or an amazing last minute Christmas gift!). Two holders are 18”x9” and one holder is 12”x9” and they fit candles in a wide range of sizes. Anthropologie had similar candle holders beautifully styled that sold out last month so these are at the top of our Christmas list!

Package #6 New Year’s Resolution Package – Raffled on December 14

The top three New Year’s resolutions are: 1. Lose Weight, 2. Get Organized, 3. Spend Less. This package will help you jumpstart all three!

Is your 2018 mantra ‘New Year, new you’? Kick start your New Year’s resolution with a week of personal training (three sessions)! In addition, to the personal training, you’ll get a new workout outfit from GYM GROUPIE. Grand Prize: Chicago Hotel and Treats Package – Raffled on December 21

Each raffle ticket also goes toward the Grand Prize, which will be announced on Wednesday, December 21.
