Charleston Taekwondo opened 11 years ago with the mission of creating a better community, one Black Belt at a time. We truly believe that creating a better tomorrow means looking after each other today. After years of developing stronger leaders through our Martial Arts programs we would like to help our community in another way, by partnering with MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital’s mission is to “help children live the dreams they imagine.” Our hope is to make things a little easier for families when facing challenges. All donations go to help families going through tough times.
We have set out on a lofty goal this year of raising $50,000 dollars to donate to MUSC Children’s Hospital this year.
We will raise funds through various events such as a Break-A-Thon, business sponsorships and raffles. Our main focus will be our large community event, the Break-A-Thon. Our goal is to have at least 200 participants raise over $100 each. During this event we will break thousands of boards with different Martial Arts techniques.
All students who raise at least $100 will be entered to win one of our many prizes totaling over $700 in value. Additionally, students who raises at least $50 will receive a Free Charleston TKD Kicking For A Cure T-shirt.
