Hello everyone, meet Lucky! He's a lovable 5 year old male Border Collie who needs help with an abscessed tooth he's had for quite some time now. We've recently adopted him but he needs to get fixed up ASAP!

We are so excited to tell all of you that the surgery went great and Lucky is back at home recovering. He's been on antibiotics for over 48 hours now and the wound on his face is also beginning to look much better.
Lucky is also very obviously happy to be home with his new family, even as worn out as he is. We are so happy to have him.
We will continue to update you all over the next few days as Lucky continues to recover. We just can't thank you enough.
Lucky is a very sweet and mellow little doggie- content to sit right by your side, always ready for love and affection. He's a smaller border collie (his recently shaved physique isn't what's making him look that way) with adorable white and tan markings. He's also been suffering from an abscessed upper right tooth for a period of time now- how long we are not exactly sure, but long enough for him to be continually scratching at it and create an open wound on his face. You can see it in the picture. His old owner did not want to pay to have the operation to have it removed, so he decided to do the alternative and give Lucky doses of antibiotics when the tooth infection flares up.
Since learning about Lucky's story, we have made the decision to help however we possibly can. So that is why I am here, on the World Wide Web, asking for you to help us do this. Lucky is now staying with us, but we need to get this abscessed tooth taken care of quickly. Our goal is to get Lucky to the vet in the next week and get him the medical attention he needs and deserves.

Thank you so much to all of you who supported and donated to Lucky's toothache fund! We can hardly express how much we appreciate your generosity. We feel deeply moved by how many of you were willing to help us help Lucky and are especially grateful we reached our goal and then some, before his surgery tomorrow. We all know dogs are awesome but as a good friend of ours recently said, "People can be awesome too." You're all awesome. Great news! Lucky is scheduled to have his abscessed tooth removed this Friday! We were able to get a second veterinarian's opinion who offered to perform the surgery for a total cost of only $1,000! I have updated the fundraising goal accordingly and am thrilled to report we are that much closer to reaching it! Thank you again to all of you who have helped Lucky get the care he deserves!
