Marx Fencing Academy - 5.0 Upgrades

Five years ago, Michael and I took a leap of faith. In May of 2014, Isabella and I decided to have ice cream at Reasons to Be Cheerful. As we were departing, we saw a storefront with a for rent sign. We decided that it was a perfect spot for what was to become Marx Fencing Academy. We knew that we had less than 3 months to lease, build out the space, and get MFA up and running for the beginning of the fencing season. With the help of friends, fencing families, and new acquaintances we opened at the end of August for or first Intensive Training session. 

Five years later, thanks to the hard work of our students and coaches, and the support of parents and friends, we are a powerhouse in the fencing world - one of the top 10 fencing clubs in the country. In order to continue along this path, we need to reconfigure our current space (until we can find the perfect building to accommodate our vision for the future of MFA), and we are asking for your help. Many of you saw the buildout plans and the beginning of the construction project. We are adding 4 new strips, going wireless, moving the waiting lounge, adding a study bar, finishing the bag rooms, and moving the front office. Not to mention, we’re hiring Master Jonathan Barth and a third foil coach to help Ralf with our growing foil program.

We want MFA to be the best that it can possibly be. Your donation will help us do just that, and allow us to continue to grow our amazing fencing community together. We’re truly grateful for your support, and excited to launch the next phase of Marx Fencing Academy.
