As most of you may know, Mike Roller (my incredible stepdad) was sent to the emergency room in January of 2022 after battling Covid for weeks at home. It was there we found out that he needed to be intubated and put on the vent as his lungs were worn out and thus his journey of recovery began.
Since then, Mike and my mom have been going through a REALLY long & tough battle. It’s been 8 months of emergency hospital visits, good and bad rehabs, bedsores, infections - ups and downs medically and emotionally.
A lot of you on his Facebook Prayer & Update page have asked how you can help financially so we (Breanna, Megan & Jared) created this page as an opportunity for donations to be sent directly to their bank account to help cover these 8 months of medical costs. (A Go Fund Me was circling around in the beginning but was canceled and those who donated were refunded)
Mike and my mom have been holding steadfast and strong in the Lord. They have been blessed with people like you who have supported them in prayer, comfort, and truth and we couldn’t be more grateful. We have seen God’s hand in all of this craziness and hope and pray we will see miraculous healing of Mike so that he can finally go home with restored lungs.
He currently is still needing the vent at night as his C02 levels keep rising. Pray that they can resolve this issue and that Mike’s lungs will no longer need the vent. There is talk he may need a lung transplant.
Here are some other ways you can support if you don’t feel comfortable donating online:
*Sprouts Gift Cards for my mom as she stays here in town (phoenix) and not in her home located in Prescott. This will help her with her groceries
*Gas Gift Cards for my mom as she travels to the rehab each day
*Cards & Gift baskets for Mike to cheer him up. He needs all the joy and hope he can get right now. If you’d like more information on where to send these, please message Megan Kaiser or Breanna Fowler on Facebook.
Again, thank you all for your help, concern, and support in all of this. We look forward to the day when Mike finally gets to be at home.
The last time I saw him he had said this “Every day I just want to be in the Lord’s presence. That is what I keep focusing on right now, I want to hear from Him amongst this all. And while I’m with Him, I keep asking ‘can you send a miracle my way?’”.
I then asked, “Mike, what are you most looking forward to?”
He replied, “I just want to be home with Terri. Holding her on the couch and nothing more”.
