About The Team

A pivotal year, fourth grade is a time of extreme growth. Learning to read transforms into reading to learn.

Truly a bridge spanning the social, emotional, and cognitive gap between young child and a tween, fourth graders are ready for more.

They willingly work to meet the newly raised bar, often becoming more self-conscious and self-critical as peer influences become more important. Creativity and ideas explode from them even as they complain about aches and pains and the unfairness of an unjust world. Fourth graders love wordplay and exaggeration – and if you feel sometimes that you live with a master negotiator, you may have a fourth grader.

On Fund Run Day, they will come alive as they have fun running, jumping, crawling and climbing on the track and obstacles. Come and watch us! Please help us by donating today!

More Info

The annual Oakwood Fund Run is just around the corner! It’s a chance for Oakwood students to improve their school through their own school spirit and participation.

The Fund Run has always been a special way for the Oakwood community to come together to support the school and celebrate our school spirit. Students will be running an obstacle course and laps on the field for 30 minutes with their grade level. Families are encouraged to come out and cheer them on! It’s a wonderful event and we encourage parent participation both on and off the field.

Proceeds this year will go toward the school's Spreading Our Roots campaign in support of the Campus Fund which includes a liberal arts building, a new gymnasium, and playfield to follow, that are part of our long-term vision. Construction is well underway and the buildings will be ready for students to utilize for the 2019-2020 school year. The addition of a new liberal arts building, gymnasium, and playfield, will ultimately advance Oakwood's ability to provide enhanced hands-on learning opportunities and expanded extracurricular offerings for our current students as well as sustaining this excellence for future generations.

This is your chance to make an immediate and lasting impact on Oakwood's future!
