On their own

In Southern Africa there are hundreds of thouands of children who have lost both parents to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  Now they live in child-headed homes, on their own in the dwellings that once belonged to their parents.  These children are working very hard to help their brothers and sisters, keep their homes, have enough to eat, and get an education. Older children look after younger ones, and they work together to find ways to meet everday challenges.

After school each day, children come to special centers for a hot meal and help with their schoolwork. But on weekends, when the centers are closed, the children often have nothing to eat

But not alone

The Orpahns Weekend Feeding Program provides supplies like corn meal, beans, vegetables, and cooking oil--as well as other essentils such as soap and candles.

These are ugent needs.  The needs of a hungry child cannot wait for assistance tomorrow.  God calls us to service today--to reach out in love as God reaches out to us.  We are standing together with these orphans.  They are determined to live. We ar determined to help

Matthew 25:35-36,40

"I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stanger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me...whatever you did for one of the leat of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
