Had another stroke. No insurance to afford rehabilitation.

Had another stroke. No insurance to afford rehabilitation.

From Robin Ford

Woke up with a lazy left eye on Sunday, 03/16/2014. A former heart patient that had strokes in 2007 can't ignore this. With no insurance, I need help paying for diagnostic tests.

Update #3

I'm no doctor, so explaining this may make you more confused than relieved: My doctors believe I should have two surgeries this summer. One should widen my renal arteries to help improve my blood pressure (which is not going down, no matter how much medicine I take) and another should repair my double vision. Both are, kind of a gamble. I suppose anything in medicine is. However, everything we've tried since March 16th has either not worked or only worked a little. When I'm at risk for additional strokes, it's important that we work FAST. I'm not sure I believe the renal stent will work and I've already been told that the eye procedure my have to be repeated multiple times. I'll be taking a lot of time off work in the coming months to heal from at least two (but maybe more) surgeries. If you know anyone that can help, please share the link to my campaign.

We finally know what to do about my stroke

I'm no doctor, so explaining this may make you more confused than relieved: My doctors believe I should have two surgeries this summer. Sorry for the sad news, but Thank You for being with me

Though I have scary news to follow, I want to say: THANK YOU SO MUCH! The expenses, so far, have been over $3000 out of pocket. I no longer have any savings & without your help I wouldn't be able to do any of my follow-up appointments or afford my medicine. My doctors have told me that going in when I did saved my eye from going completely blind.

I am currently in need of surgery to prevent further damage to my eye OR new damage to my unscathed eye.

I have severe double vision with both eyes open & must wear an eyepatch at all times just to be able to stand. My "good" eye is being strained so much that I have to spend long periods of time with a complete blindfold on or in complete darkness to avoid seeing spots and feeling dizzy.

This is no life, my friends.

We know that blood was temporarily cut off from my left eye, causing paralysis in the nerves, there. (stroke) Thankfully, I have no brain damage.
Sadly, this is not my first stroke.

We know that I have ludicrously high blood pressure and that medicine has done very little to bring it under control. (meaning that my weight has almost no bearing on the problem) My diastolic (bottom number) was over 150 when I was admitted to the hospital. Even with maximum dosages of IV medication, we haven't been able to get it under 100. My doctors worry that IF the high blood pressure is the cause of strokes, I will have more strokes until we can find out what is causing it. My heart, which has been repaired before, seems to be normal. My arteries are not clogged with plaque.

Our goals, now, are to widen the arteries near my kidneys to see if that will alleviate my blood pressure issues. This surgery has been explained to me as something that may not 100% fix the situation, but definitely won't hurt.

Even if you can't donate, please visit my Fundly link and join as a supporter. I feel like more people will be willing to pitch in if they see the amount of kind souls that want me healed.

Until we find out how to stop me from having strokes, my eye could get worse and my other eye is at risk. Please, help me.

Check Out My Latest Campaign Update

I've had strokes, before. I visited an Urgent care 24 hours after this happened & have been told that it's possible I had another stroke or that I'm experiencing complications from diabetes. I need to be thoroughly tested for both but can't afford it out-of-pocket & don't have health insurance. Right now, I'm taking medicines to reduce swelling.

Help me find out what's causing this to suddenly occur by helping me reach my campaign goal on #Fundly! You can donate as much or little as you want. I promise to keep you guys posted: http://fundly.com/possibly-had-another-stroke-no-insurance-to-afford-diagnostic-tests
