As a part of the Pacific Power Group Extended Family Project, we are raising money to give extra holiday cheer to people who were nominated by our employees. Pacific Power Group will match all employee donations!

Employee Richard Dennler nominated someone who wishes to remain anonymous. This person has had plumbing and electrical issues in her home for close to two years and she has been struggling asking and accepting help for these home projects. She has been invited to travel and visit family for the holidays, however she does not feel comfortable leaving her home at this time and so she will be alone. We would like to give her a little holiday spirit by having a hot meal delivered to her home on Christmas and send her a care package of warm things, such as blankets, socks, hat, gloves.
Employee Jordan Ryan nominated the family of Jon Held. Jon was a parts driver for Pacific Torque and he passed away from cancer this year. Jon was always a very friendly person who came to PPG will-call every day on behalf of his company. Jon’s spirits remained high even when the cancer took him very quickly. Jon’s family is currently working with the city of Des Moines city council to have a park bench built at the marina and dedicated to Jon. We would like to contribute to the costs of building this bench.
Employee Kathy Hempel has nominated her son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Brooke Hempel. Nathan and Brook are newlyweds and in October unexpectedly took in a 1 ½ year old niece who was removed from her home by CPS. Both Brook and Nathan work full time and were saving up to buy their first home and taking in the toddler has postponed their plan. Currently CPS provides diapers and wipes for the baby, but the family is currently in need of many household and baby items.
