About The Team

Welcome,

We are excited about our historical building restoration!  We can attest to 100 years of memories at 1421 Oretha Castle Haley through our organization records.  Interior and exterior work is needed to restore this beautiful 3-story structure. With your help, we CAN do it!

After the restoration, our programs will serve as a location for events and community-based programs:

  • To help fight hunger
  • To provide financial aid to students seeking higher learning at universities and colleges
  • To provide school clothing to underpriviledged children
  • To provide afterschool and weekend backpacks filled with food for underpriviledged children
  • To provide computers, computer training and internet access to children and seniors.

We, the Electa Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of the A.R. of the State of Louisiana, appreciate your support!

Thank You,

Grand Matron V. Latham-Jacques

More Info

Located at 1421 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, this beautiful 3-story historic building originally built in Circa 1866 was purchased by the MW St. Andrew Grand Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in 1920.

As one of the oldest buildings in New Orleans, LA, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a Contributing Element in the Central City Historic District.

Funds to restore the building will cover design and construction costs related to interior and exterior damage from extensive water infiltration, environmental damage over time, and insect damage.   Current building requirements and code updates for structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety are included along with a new elevator.

The Electa Grand Order of the Eastern Star of A.R. of the Rites of the State of Louisiana is a non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
