A Red Circle has been a crucial resource for the North St. Louis community and beyond since 2017. The history of St. Louis' real estate history between the racial tensions and the laws such as "redlining," led to a lack of access to credit, higher interest rates, and smaller mortgages. Starting in the 1930s, black communities were negatively impacted, leading to a lack of education, and equitable resources for safe and healthy neighborhoods. Today, St. Louis is still recovering--founder Erica Williams decided it was crucial to invest in communities in North County and beyond.

Examples of Donations and Impacts:

$25 - provides basic materials to the Student Advocates for Education program (SAFE)

$50 - Provides resources for the community garden-- resources from the garden are given to small-owned businesses and open community events weekly.

Funds will also go towards the opening of a community grocery store, to open in 2025--a major project to greatly impact the St. Louis region.

The vision: "A North County community that benefits from equitable investment which will lead to a healthy environment and food ecosystem, quality education, and opportunities for everyone to enjoy the arts." In 2023, A Red Circle acquired Hills Shopping Center, the future home of the North County Community Nexus, a center for a community grocery store.
